How to easily assemble your modular dock
Share
Our modular docks and pontoons have been specially designed for easy assembly, even for those without extensive DIY experience. Everything has been considered to ensure accessible installation for everyone: robust components, intuitive connections, and clear instructions. Here are our recommendations for efficient, safe, and enjoyable assembly.
1. Check all parts
Before you begin, make sure that all the necessary parts for assembly are present. This will prevent surprises along the way and ensure a smooth assembly, whether for a dock or a pontoon.
2. Prepare the wood with the oil provided
We provide a natural protective oil to extend the durability of the wood.
At this stage, the oil should only be applied to the freshly cut boards or ends , in order to properly protect the exposed areas.
This creates a barrier against moisture and helps the wood retain its appearance through the seasons.
3. Required tools
Our modular docks and pontoons have been designed so that anyone can assemble them easily .
The majority of the assembly relies on bolts and a few screws , without specialized tools.
The recommended tools are:
- a ratchet ,
- a screwdriver ,
- And, to save time: a drill and an adjustable wrench .
All assembly points are easily accessible and clearly identified to simplify the work.
4. Work in teams of two
Installation is possible alone, but it is simpler and more pleasant with two people . This makes handling the modules easier, especially when launching or positioning the sections.
5. Estimated assembly time
On average, allow between 45 minutes and 2 hours to assemble a section made up of two modules.
The exact time may vary depending on:
- the number of people present,
- the level of experience,
- the tools used,
- and the installation location (flat terrain, access to the lake, etc.).
6. Assemble two modules and connect them on the water
Start by assembling two modules on the ground, then bring them onto the water to connect them. This approach stabilizes the structure and makes it easier to assemble the subsequent modules.
7. Add the additional modules
Once the first two modules are installed, add the following one by one until you obtain the desired configuration.
Our quick-fix system allows you to easily extend your dock or pontoon, without additional tools.
8. Install the reinforcements and flooring
Secure the provided reinforcements to ensure the structure's strength, then install the floorboards.
The sections fit together naturally, for a solid and aesthetically pleasing result.
9. Secure the seats and accessories
Secure the seats and accessories in the designated locations to ensure comfort and stability.
Next, add your favorite options: cup holders, ladder, fishing rod holder, table, or storage module.
10. Wait before applying the dye
We recommend waiting a few weeks before applying a stain or a new coat of oil to the entire dock.
This allows the wood to dry properly and ensures better long-term durability.
A simple, sustainable and rewarding experience
We offer an assembly service (available in some areas, depending on the order), but we strongly recommend doing it yourself.
Assembling your own dock or pontoon is a rewarding experience : a great opportunity to discover product design, to work as a team and to gain a real sense of pride and accomplishment .
